Blue Agave Cantina is a family-run taqueria on the east side of Austin, open eight years and known for our scratch salsa bar and a weekend brunch that packs the patio. Everything here is made in house, and our crew takes real pride in it — most of our kitchen has been with us 3+ years, and we're a tight-knit team of 14. We're hiring a Line Cook to run grill and prep. We'll teach you our menu — what we really need is someone dependable who shows up on time and keeps their head when the tickets pile up. If you've spent time on a hotline and don't get flustered when a big party rolls in or brunch gets slammed, you'll fit right in. Weekends are a hard requirement — that's when our patio is busiest. Pay is $20/hour, right at the Austin market for line cooks, and we're looking to start as soon as possible. Come cook scratch-made food with a crew that cares about it.

Your plan to actually get applicants

Let's be straight: Homebase is not a magic applicant source. Simply posting the job and waiting rarely brings in enough good line cooks — a bare posting gets thin traffic. Getting a solid pool takes a small budget behind the listing plus a little hands-on effort from you. That combination is exactly what fills the role in about two weeks. At $20/hour you're right at the Austin market median, which is a real advantage — it pulls more people and they tend to stick.

Set your monthly budget — we manage the spend

We sponsor across Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and social, and optimize as applicants come in. Organic alone barely moves anymore — the boards throttle free posts, so budget is the lever.
